University Educators Participate in Teachers' Day Seminar

The General Administration of Education in Asir organized a seminar in collaboration with the College of Education and the Scientific Association for Teachers. The seminar was entitled "The Teachers we Need, for the Education we Want" and presented by the Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Thabit bin Saeed Al-Kahlan, and Professor of Curriculum and teaching methods, President of the Administrative Council for the Teachers' Scientific Association, Prof. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Kasi. It was directed by Dr. Khalid bin Ahmed Asiri, and Prof. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Mudawi, and held in celebration of the International Teachers' Day at the Theatre of the Education Administration.

In his opening statement, Prof. Thabit bin Saeed Al-Kahlan explained that human capital development is considered a pillar for the Saudi Vision 2030. It aims to make Saudi citizens a worldwide competing force in the job market through enriching their values, and their fundamental skills and knowledge. The kingdom’s efforts offer lifelong learning opportunities, strengthen citizens’ understanding of work ethic, and support innovation and entrepreneurship.

Al-Kahlan continued, “Education needs qualified and proactive teachers that exemplify the ideal role model for students, and provide an encouraging and inspiring environment that helps students reach their full potential. These teachers have a deep understanding of their fields and are capable of guiding students and presenting knowledge in an innovative and comprehensive manner, alongside their personal intellectual abilities and knowledge in a variety of facets that develop students’ outlook on the world”.

Prof. Al-Kasi highlighted the leading role of teachers in shaping future generations, and the immense respect and appreciation they garner for their contributions to students’ livelihoods and igniting their desire for learning.
