University to celebrate the winners of Prince Sultan bin Salman Award for Architectural Heritage.

Under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Asir Region and the Chairman of the Tourist Development Council in the region, King Khalid University will - on Monday morning 9 of Safar, 1436 AH, corresponding to 1 December, 2014 AD -witness a ceremony at which the winners of the Prince Sultan bin Salman Award for Architectural Heritage, in its fifth round of the second year, will be declared. The ceremony is going to be organized by the Charity Heritage Foundation in collaboration with the King Khalid University. The venue is at the University City, Abha. Many honored personalities are going to attend the ceremony: they include His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz - the Chairman of the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities, the founder and the President of Charity Heritage Foundation, the Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the Prince Sultan bin Salman award for Architectural Heritage, and His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Seif, the  Deputy Minister of Higher Education, in addition to the President of King Khalid University, His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood.

The Ceremony, which will be held within the 4th National Forum for Architectural Heritage, and which is going to be held over four days, will be in the main Hall of King Khalid University in Abha. Additionally, on the sidelines of the award ceremony, the third exhibition for the projects of the students of Architecture and Planning colleges in the Saudi universities will be opened, so also the exhibition of the winning projects in the Prince Sultan bin Salman Architectural Heritage Award.

It is noteworthy that the ceremony will be interspersed by a debate entitled "Higher Education in the field of architectural heritage" to be run by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education in the University Council. There will also be another debate entitled "King Abdullah project to take care of cultural heritage," which will be administered by the President of the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities. It will take place in the University Theatre. Finally, two scientific sessions will be organized in the University Theatre under the title "the current status of Architectural Heritage" which will be managed by King Khalid University Vice - Presidet Prof. Marei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, and the second one entitled "The role of local institutions and communities in the rehabilitation and development of the Architectural Heritage" to be managed by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Hussein bin Manea Al-Wadi.
