University President Inaugurates Environment Week Activities
His Excellency King Khalid University President Prof. Falleh bin Rajallah Al Solami, inaugurated the university 2022 environment week activities, at the University City in Al-Qara’a.
In a speech during the inauguration ceremony, the university vice president for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, praised the Kingdom’s interest in the environment, stressing the importance of achieving sustainable environmental resources and protecting them in Asir region.
On her part the director of Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Center for Environmental Research and Tourism Studies at the university, Dr. Rahma Al-Shahrani, reviewed the center’s efforts in promoting sustainable environmental sources and spreading awareness on the issue.
Al-Shahrani explained that the environment week activities include the launch of three awareness campaigns, three awareness lectures, an environmental cleaning campaign in university city in Al-Qara’a, and the campaign for planting in the university colleges 2022.
It’s worth noting that three volunteer teams participated in the environment week activities from with in the university and public entities in Abha city.
