University President Inaugurates Scientific Research Encouragement Awards in Six Paths

His Excellency King Khalid University President Prof. Falleh bin Rajallah Al Solami, recently inaugurated the Scientific Research Encouragement Award program which was launched  by the Deanship of Scientific Research.

During the inauguration, His Excellency the President of the University stressed that supporting researchers is one of the most important pillars of development, and such programs motivate researchers to exert more effort in advancing scientific research in quantity and quality . He Added that programs such as these  promote a culture of innovation and invention, create a spirit of competitive environment  among researchers, and motivate  them to acquire the potentials of research competition globally.His Excellency, also  stressed the need to provide the sources and facilities  that ensure the promotion of scientific research at the university and highlight the efforts of those contributing to purpose.

 

On his part,  the University Vice President of Scientific Research, Dr. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, said  that this initiative is an effective approach to  supporting scientific research, encouraging researchers, and spreading the spirit of creativity in order to achieve the Kingdom’s vision 2030.

 

On the same note, the Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Muhammad bin Yahya Abu Dahama, said that the Deanship of Scientific Research took the initiative to propose an incentive awards program in scientific research that serves all categories of researchers. The proposal was recommended to be approved by the University Council, explaining that this program aims to support the national research, in addition to embodying the values ​​adopted in the development of scientific research such as research quality, innovation, creativity and excellence.

Abu Dahama added, "The program also aims to raise the level of scientific research outcomes  at the university, to guarantee  quantitatively and qualitatively, build a knowledge economy society, as well as promote publishing in prestigious scientific journals,  and encouraging a competitive environment among researchers."

 

The award comes in six categories: the Nature and Science Publishing Award, Research Citation Award, Extensive Research Production Award, Distinguished Research Publication Award, Patent Award, and Promising Researcher Award.

It is worth noting that the awards will be awarded annually to distinguished researchers, in accordance with the approved terms and conditions.
