Dentistry Professors, Register a Patent for a Numbered Device that Carries and Adjusts the Height of Orthodontic Brackets

The Dean of the College of Dentistry at King Khalid University, Prof. Ibrahim bin Sulaiman Al-Shahrani, and a member of the faculty of Dentistry  Dr. Ali Al-Haizai, registered a patent for a numbered device that carries and adjusts  the height of orthodontic brackets.

 

Regarding the idea of ​​the invention, Al-Shahrani explained that to adjust the height of the orthodontic brackets, 4 tools are used, including the bracket holder, a 3.5mm and 4mm height adjuster, a 4.5mm and 5mm height adjuster, and a dental detection tool. He added that the idea of ​​the invention is based on the use of one tool that performs the tasks of 4 tools, stressing that this  tool carries the orthodontic brackets and adjusts its height on all surfaces of the teeth without using any other additional tools.

 

Regarding the practical value of the invention tool, Al-Hazai explained that the tool reduces the time consumed in adjusting the orthodontic brackets,  and in an accurate matter adjusts the heights of the brackets, as well as reducing the time period for orthodontic treatment and  giving better treatment results, as well as  reducing the number of tools used in the clinic, and reducing the rate of transmitted infection and costs.

It is worth noting that  patent was registered with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property.
