College of Medicine and Outpatient Clinics Conclude “ Early Detection of Breast Cancer” Campaign

The Dean of the College of Medicine at King Khalid University, Prof. Suleiman Al-Hamid, attended the closing of the College of Medicine and Outpatient Clinics“ Early Detection of Breast Cancer” Campaign, which was organized during the period 15-30 October.

The head of the Family and Community Medicine Department at the College of Medicine, Dr. Safar Al Salim, explained that the diagnosis and examination was made through the  mammogram  device and sound waves, indicating that suspected cases were dealt with according to medical norms and referred to specialized centers to complete the treatment  procedures, stressing on the  importance of  early detection of breast cancer, through which it is easy to diagnose and treat in its early stages.

In addition, the supervisor of the campaign and a consultant in family medicine and women's health at the College of Medicine, Dr. Haifa Al-Hafzi, said that during the campaign, 234 women were registered, and a mammography consultant was hosted as well as the  participation of Dr. Abeer Al-Mousa. from King Fahd Medical City in Riyadh.

It is worth noting that the campaign included the participation of a number of doctors , radiology specialists  and nurses as part of the university community service work.
