KKUx platform at King Khalid University launched three short training programs with certified mini degrees. The three programs were on Python, data analysis and representation and designing user experience.

The platform supervisor Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Ahmari, explained these programs are among the most required specializations in the labor market. So, getting an approved certificate in these fields will shorten the learner’s path and contribute to acquiring many skills. He confirmed, mini degree programs are based on synchronous and asynchronous self-learning. It also requires joining virtual knowledge communities, starting and developing graduation projects with the help of experts, and attending a series of courses to develop a future skill which will qualify for an approved mini-degree.

Al-Ahmari pointed KKUx is one of the first platforms specialized in future skills and the fourth industrial revolution in Saudi universities. It will work on meeting learning need with a number of initiatives.

The program “Data Analysis and Representation” focuses on data analysis, steps to download R language, importing data and statistical description. It also focuses on data distribution, dealing with missing values, applying predictive analysis using Linear regression 7, representing data using R language and acquiring the skills of representing data using Tabula.

The program “Programming Using Python” introduces the main concepts in programming, writing softwares, solving programming issues, designing electronic games and the concept of multithreading. The program also covers the mechanisms of acquiring skills in databases, networks and creating applications in the Python. As well as introducing data structures, algorithms, and designing advanced applications.

As for the third program “Designing User Experience”, it focuses on using techniques to design a different user experience to develop digital projects. It focuses on planning the process of user experience based research, determining the required accuracy and analyzing the research outcomes and using them in a way that benefits the project. The program covers developing the core components of any digital project (research, characters, use scenarios). In addition to the most important international concepts in designing, the importance of modeling and its types, the prototypes accuracy and their types. As well as increasing the effectiveness of designing process and models production in general using Figma one of the latest design platforms. The trainee will learn the basics of using this platform and how to harness it in producing effective prototypes.

The final part in all the three programs all what was learned would be applied in a graduation project which would be reviewed and evaluated by the trainer.
