Virtual Training Course Held on Value Added Tax (VAT) Guidelines and Economic Activity

His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, supervised a virtual training course entitled "Value Added Tax." The Director of VAT Operations at the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT), Mr. Hammoud Al-Harbi, delivered the session. The General Administration of Legal Affairs organized the course in cooperation with the Office of the Vice Rector for Business and Knowledge Economy. Vice Rector for Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Abdul Latif Al-Hadithi, and several senior university faculty were in attendance.

 

The course covered several topics that included an overview of the tax legislative framework, an explanation of the requirements, and the mechanisms of issuing tax invoices and submitting tax returns. It was noted taxpayers had been provided with the full legal detail to understand the potential impact of VAT and their obligations, which was effective as of 1 January 2018.

 

General Supervisor of Legal Affairs, Dr. Ali Al-Hajri, explained this course is a response to the directives stating the importance of implementing the VAT system and benefiting from the specialists at GAZT.
