Tehama Campus Launches Several Goodwill Initiative Activities

His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, extended his thanks to Tehama Campus Supervisor, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shehri, for his team's efforts in launching the summer 2020 Goodwill Initiative entitled "Picnic with Caution".

 

The initiative included several training courses and cultural seminars, in addition to the health caravan, and a fine arts competition. Dr. Al-Shehri explained the keenness of those in charge of implementing the initiative's activities to keep social distancing and apply precautionary measures in those events. Dr. Al-Shehri explained that these seminars and training courses were focused on raising social awareness of COVID-19 prevention methods.

 

Dr. Al-Shehri thanked His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy for his continuous support. Deputy Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education, Tehama Campus, Dr. Abdullah Hassan Al-Shehri, explained that his team implemented six training courses and educational seminars on the COVID-19 pandemic. He highlighted that several health activities were implemented as part of the "Health Caravan" activity, which aimed to raise health awareness on the importance of early detection, distribute leaflets, sterilizers, masks, and provide medical examination services with the participation of a specialized medical team.

 

The Fair Art Competition organizers also aimed to raise the level of intellectual awareness about COVID-19 among society. This is the second iteration of the Goodwill Initiative directed by His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal, Governor of Asir - may God protect him – in order to emphasize a good welcoming of visitors from outside the region.
