University "Pharmacy College" to hold the 1st Pharmacy Career Day.

Under the auspices of his Excellency the University President, Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood, the Pharmacy College of the university arranges the 1st Pharmacy Career Day, which is scheduled to be held on two days 6 and 7 of Muharram 1436 AH. The venue for men is the the Central Stands at the University Headquarter, Abha, while that for woman activities is at the main Hall at the University Center for Girls' Study, Alsamer.

On this issue, the Dean of the Pharmacy College, who is also the Head of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Adel Alhamzani has confirmed that the Day aims at preparing the students for the post graduation stage, and at helping them to choose their specializations and relevant career based on their competencies, in addition to making them ready to enter the labor market. Hosting such a day proves the college's leading role, and its social responsibilities towards its students and alumni; it is something more than training and educating them, or enabling them to acquire the necessary skills and competencies, but also to give them a hand in choosing their career towards a flourishing future, God willing.

Alhazani expressed the committee's willingness to select a distinguished group of experts to present a number of lectures to introduce the pharmacy career, roots, branches, and available employment and training opportunities. He said, "Accompanying workshops and the exhibition within the Day are to train the participants on the competition of the labor market and employment planning. Moreover, the accompanying exhibition provides the alumni with a chance to communicate directly with the employment entities in the governmental and private sectors."

The 1st session will witness submitting many papers such as 'the Pharmacy Career in Saudi Arabia' under the presidency of Dr. Adel Alhazani, and Dr. Yousef Abdu Asseri who will speak about 'the Pharmacy Career in Saudi Arabia: 50 years of progress and experience". Then, Dr. Mohammed Alahdal will speak about practicing the pharmacy career in Saudi Arabia and work areas. The session will close with a lecture by Dr. Ali Abdul Aziz Almatwazi who will speak about the role of the Pharmacy Scientific Council in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In the 2nd sessions, a paper entitled, " Who are we?!  And what we can offer!,  headed by Dr. Abdullah Asseri, speakers about this paper are Dr. Saleh Abdullah Bawazeer who represent the Saudi Medicine and food Authority, and Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah Alsaraa who represents the Saudi Pharmaceutical Association. In addition to these are a number of lectures such as How to write your CV, and How to pass an interview, to be Presented by Dr. Yusef Abdo Asseri, and Fellowship Program for Pharmacy by Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Zahrani, as well as how to plan for your future career, by the pharmacist Saad Abdul Latif Alaqifa.

 In Women's side, there will be a paper on how to write your CV, How to pass a personal interview, and areas of work for Saudi women pharmacists in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to be presented by the pharmacist Eman Nasser Al-Mutairi, in addition to lectures for a number of specialized companies, including a lecture by Dar Al-Farabi, another lecture for Gulf Supplies of biotic systems, and yet another one for Althawabt Company for Commercial activities.

It is noteworthy that this day comes to coincided with the establishment of a branch of the pharmacists Club under the supervision of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society, which embodies the vision of the college and its goals through excellent cooperation with the Assembly to accommodate pharmacists in the region to expand the knowledge base and the development of expertise.
