US News is an organization specialized in international and regional ranking of universities. The last showcase of the US News has ranked King Khalid University (KKU) at the 27th place on the level of Arab Universities, and the 5th on the level of Saudi universities. In addition, US News ranking considered KKU as one of the best 90 educational institutions, affiliated to 16 Arab countries in the field of scientific research.

For his part, the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Al Dawood has explained that the university has achieved this prestigious position among the Saudi Arabian Universities and other Arab universities, thanks to God, then to the unlimited support received from Saudi Arabia leaders, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and Deputy Crown Prince - may God save them, in addition to the permanent follow-up of His Highness the Governor of Asir Province, and the keenness and patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education.

President Al-Dawood praised the diligent efforts and the continuous hard work being carried out by the University stakeholders throughout the last year, which resulted in the University to achieve a privileged position among local, Arab, and international universities. Results of ranking are based on the official showcase announced by organizations that are specialized in the international ranking of universities.

The Rector added that "King Khalid University is still moving rapidly towards achieving its vision and strategic objectives through the realization of the aspirations of both the leadership and the aspirations of the nationals. Furthermore, the university looks forward to achieving a distinguished scientific, research, and service level". He added, "The University aspires to reach the knowledge level which the society requires to meet labor market needs for the requirements of a comprehensive and balanced development."

Rector Al-Dawood also emphasized that "the university does not consider rankings as an end in itself, but as a result and an indication of the mobility of the institution and its interaction within specific criteria. The primary focus remains on achieving tangible development and overall quality of all university academic and administrative operations in pursuit of competitive output, effective role, and social contribution".
