Sixteen Recommendations at the End of the Urban Tourism Forum on Mountainous Areas

At the end of the Urban Tourism Forum sessions which had been held in Abha, during the period of 28–29/12/1438 AH, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Forum, the Secretary of the Asir Region, Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Qadi reported sixteen recommendations. The forum was organized in cooperation with King Khalid University, the Asir Regional Municipality, and the Asir Branch of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage. These recommendations were based on the research papers discussed in the forum. One of the most important recommendations was forming a law to preserve and protect urban heritage.

While reporting the forum's final recommendations, Al-Qadi reiterated the importance of the forum. He maintains that the level of importance attached to the forum will have a significant impact on tourism generally in addition to the attractive tourism environment of the Asir region specifically. He noted how new tourism development could support the national economy aligned with Vision 2030.

Al-Qadi also pointed to other recommendations that the forum produced in an effort to enhance tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a whole and the Asir region in particular. Moreover, he thanked His Royal Highness, Governor of the Asir Region, Prince Faisal bin Khalid for his patronage. He also thanked the President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman for his honorable presence as well as the Deputy Governor of the Asir Region, HRH Prince Mansour bin Muqrin for his continuous support in all aspects of the forum.
