Governor of Asir sponsors the signing of two agreements with the Education Department and the Ministry of Agriculture in Aseer

His Royal Highness, Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdul-Aziz, sponsored signing a cooperation agreement between King Khalid University and both of the General Directorate of Education in Aseer Region and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Aseer in the presence of King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solamy and the General Director of Education in Aseer, Mr. Jalawi Al-Karkman. The signing took place at the University City in Abha.

The KKU was represented in the agreement by the Vice-President, Dr. Mohammed Al-Hassoun while the General Administration of Education was represented by the Assistant Director of Education, Mr. Saad Al-Juni. The agreement included the most important areas of cooperation and benefit from the university's capabilities and expertise in the field of studies and consultations and scientific research, which would help in handling educational problems and in improving the educational climate, teaching methods, implementing training programs in areas where the university has the developmental expertise for the educational and administrative performance of Asir students. In addition, the agreement included holding seminars, conferences and activities, which will contribute to the development of the performance of the employees of the two parties in the service of the educational process and the external community, and exchange experiences in the quality of education and the quality of administrative work and consulting, as well as enable the parties to benefit from the facilities of the other party such as laboratories, libraries and playgrounds and any other facilities that can be used to ensure their preservation.

The Agreement shall enter into force for a period of three years, starting from the date of its signature and it is renewable for similar periods automatically.

The University also signed an agreement with the General Administration of Agriculture Affairs in Aseer. The University was represented by the Dean of the Research and Consultancy Studies Institute, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Hadithi, while the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Aseer Branch was represented by Mr. Fahd Al-Fartish. The agreement included several items, including conservation and development of natural resources in Aseer region, support research and studies related to this, in addition to educational programs that are concerned with educating the community about the need to preserve natural resources and exploit them optimally to serve human and place in Asir region. Some of these areas correspond to the university's specialties represented in the Faculty of Science, which in turn provides research and scientific studies in the field of pesticide production of nanotechnology and study the safe use of it to control agricultural pests and measure residues on the product for marketing and benefit from the experience of relevant departments in the College and Prince Sultan Center for Environmental and Tourism Research and Studies, which in turn will contribute to research, studies, and efforts to preserve biodiversity, both vegetative and animal, and environmental restoration and conservation of threatened wild plants and animals. In addition to the College of Pharmacy, which will participate through this agreement by establishing a center for research of aromatic and medicinal plants in the region in cooperation with the relevant bodies at the University and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. The Center will also contribute to directing the inventions and applied research. Talent and Creativity Center of the University will also direct inventions and applied research which are overseen by the Center to be related to environmental issues, agricultural production and conservation, in addition to creating modern methods in beekeeping and honey production.
