University organizes educational forum for the prevention of drug in cooperation with "Nebras"

Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Solamy stressed that the state has exerted blessed efforts to eliminate the scourge of drugs and the state managed to thwart smuggling gangs and promotion schemes.

This statement was during the Rector's patronization to the educational forum for drug prevention today. The forum was organized by the Deanship of Student Service, represented by the Guidance and Counseling Center, in collaboration with the National Committee for Combating Drugs "Nebras" The event was attended by dignified personalities such as the Secretary General of the National Narcotics Control Commission, Mr. Abdul Ilah Al-Sharif, and His Excellency the General Director for Combating Drugs in Asir Province, Brigadier General Saad Al-Omari.

Al Solamy noted the attempts of the enemies of the homeland who are trying various ways and means to reach young men and women. "It is a real war on the people of this country. Thus, institutions, individuals, and educational authorities of schools and universities should line up and forestall this war that aims at our sons and daughters in our dear country"

Moreover, the Rector thanked the Interior Ministry on the blessed efforts that have been made in the fight against drugs. He also thanked those in charge of the National Narcotics Control Commission "Nebras", the Dean of Student Service, and the Center for guidance and counseling at the university.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the National Narcotics Control Commission, Mr. Abdul Ilah Al-Sharif thanked the Rector of the university, all employees, and those in charge of the forum. He clarified that the forum achieves the aspirations of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques government which aim at activating a national strategy to combat drugs and the role of Saudi universities in this area. Mr. Al-Sharif further explained that the country is encountering a drug mafia war, which is led by evil entities in the region that are trying to undermine our faith and the youth of our country. Finally, Mr. Al-Sharif stressed that the state took it upon themselves to protect this wealth.

The Director of Guidance and Counseling Center, Mr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Dream confirmed that the Deanship of Student Service has its great efforts in the fight against this scourge. The Deanship establishes a prevention clinic in addition to a number of lectures to raise awareness of harmful effects of drugs inside and outside the campus. The Center prepared several brochures as well as participating in the exhibition of Security patrols in Asir region, and establishing "Nebras" Forum.

It is noteworthy that the conference included the axis of Nebras project as a national project, with the participation of Chief Executive of Nebras, Dr. Nizar Bin Hussein Saleh. Another axis is about drug damage and methods of prevention, by the health center for the security forces manager in Jeddah Col. Dr. Salah Minshawi, in addition to the Axis of rehabilitation and treatment submitted by the Director of treatment and rehabilitation program, Dr. Ali bin Awad Al-Shaibani.
