Student from the Faculty of Pharmacy wins the bronze medal of Asia in Taekwondo

A student from the faculty of pharmacy at King Khalid University (KKU), the Athlete of Abha Club for the Taekwondo game, Nawaf Ali Al Madawi, has come in the third place, and has won the bronze medal in the 6th Championship of Asian Club for Taekwondo. The competition was hosted by the emirate of Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates, with the participation of 16 clubs, from which the number of athletes was 142, including 100 participants.

The student, Al Madawi, has expressed his pleasure with that achievement, which is for the entire nation. He said: “we express our gratitude to Allah first, and then to the great support that we receive in this country from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud - may Allah protect him”. He also expressed his gratitude toward the President of the Saudi Federation for Taekwondo, Dr. Hani Kamal Najm, who gave the necessary support and the continuous guidance. He also thanked Abha Club, which embraced his talent from the beginning, and he said: “It was a tough tournament in all measures due to the high skills of the athletes from the various Asian countries, but by the grace of Allah we were able to achieve a positive result, and we will seek, in the coming period, to avoid some of the mistakes that we made, in order to achieve better results in the forthcoming challenges”.

The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Sayari, has clarified that the achievement of Al Madawi of that distinctive result, had made them delighted, and it was certainly for their country. The Dean continued “we will not hesitate, God willing, at the King Khalid University (KKU) to support our special students, who are working to raise the nation's flag fluttering high in the foreign forums”.
