University launches the 2nd theatrical festival.

Within the partnership between the King Khalid University (KKU), and the Association of Culture and Arts in Asir, the university launches the events of the 2nd theatrical festival. The events will take place at the Theater of Arts and Culture Association in Abha. The dates of the events are from 18 to 20 / 6 / 1437 AH. 

On this occasion, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Marra Al Habash, has explained that the university theater was supported by the Rector of the university, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, because of its importance in formulating new concepts and area of artistic expression in students, as well as in the discovery of the many talents in the university, in the fields of acting, writing, and directing. Dr. Al Habash also stressed the importance of University Theater in which students manipulate an idea or a particular goal. He believed that the University theatre was considered a fundamental pillar of the educational process, and it had a very important educational role in the refinement of the student's personality and in investing his / her spare time in some meaningful and useful programs. Dr. Al Habash said, "the festival's aims are to form some theatrical teams of the colleges, and to encourage theatrical directing and writing with all its kinds, so as to activate the theatrical activity within the university, in addition to providing various theatrical performances which will in turn, discuss important and vital issues, with a focus on the discovery of acting talent among students, as well as instilling the values of competition, and training them on the arts of theatre, through holding training courses and some seminars."

It is noteworthy that the festival is directed to all the students of the university through the clubs in the colleges. By presenting plays, students can participate in the activities, thus giving them a chance not only to stand on stage and gain confidence, but also to break the barriers that may stand in front of them. Ten colleges in number, will compete over three days. Furthermore, 3 seminars that are related to the field of theater, will be held on the sidelines of the theater festival.
