University hosts the fifth meetings of the Committee of the Deanship for the Colleges of Nursing in Saudi Universities.

On behalf of the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, the Vice President for Health Specializations, Dr. Khalid Al Jalban, has recently launched the 5th meetings for the Committee of the Deanship for the Nursing Colleges in Saudi Universities. The launching of the meetings took place in the presence of the Assistant Secretary-General of Higher Studies in the Saudi Authority for the Health Specialties, Dr. Mohammed Sultan, and the President of Nursing Deans’ committee in Saudi Universities, Dr. Haya Fawzan. Others at the meeting include the Director of Medical programs and health Sciences in the Saudi Arabia Cultural Mission to the United States of America, Dr. Adel Bashtah, who participated in the meeting by telephone, in addition to a number of deans of nursing colleges in Saudi universities. The venue of the meetings was in the Abha Palace Hotel.

During the speech he delivered at the occasion, Dr. Al Jalban clarified that King Khalid University was pleased to host such kind of those distinctive competencies. On behalf of the President of the King Khalid University, Dr. Al Jalban welcomed everyone to the occasion, and wished the participants all successes in their deliberations, hoping that they come up with recommendations that will benefit the nursing profession, which is considered to be the spirit of the health system, and the challenges that are being faced on both professional and scientific aspects, as well as on administrative and financial organization. He said: "King Khalid University welcomes any helpful suggestions on an individual university level or on the level of Saudi universities in general".

From her side, Dr. Haya Fozan, explained that the Commission dealt in that meeting with important topics, which affect the nursing profession; some of them are the special bridging restriction for the nursing graduates, the examination registration, and the classification of nursing graduates from the local and governmental universities. The Committee also discussed several programs related to nursing in general.

Dr. Bashtah participated by telephone in the debate on the difficulties and obstacles that are being faced by nursing in the United States. There was also the issue of P.hD doctorate in nursing, and doctorate in nursing practice (DNA) which were discussed and presented by Dr. Haya Fawzan. Other presentations include the one on medical examinations mechanism, and preventive vaccinations for students, which were discussed in the Nursing College, and which were presented by Dr. Ayman Jawharji. Finally, there was Dr Hasna Banjar, who put forward the applicants’ subjects for master's programs from the bachelor graduates supplementary, or bridging of the universities in the Kingdom.
