The 1st Saudi Conference on Environment.

King Khalid University (KKU), represented by the Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Center for Environmental Research and Studies, is organizing the 1st Saudi Environmental Conference under the title, "The sustainable Management of natural resources." The conference is going to take place in Abha City from 27 to 29 Jummadh Al awal. The purpose of holding the conference is to support the national economy by applying the concepts of the environmental sustainability, especially in the area of natural resources, and to identify threats to the environment locally, regionally, and globally, as well as to identify the environmental pollution and modern techniques of addressing its risks.

Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Center for Environmental Tourism Research and Studies has identified several axis through which scientific papers and debates will be put forward. As an example, natural resources axis, "optimization of power, wet lands, forests, nature reserves, and pastures, "technology enhanced sustainability of natural resources and, environmental economics." The axis of global warming and climate changes, "desertification, drought, floods, the impact of climate changes on living things, ways to reduce and mitigate the effects of global warming". The third axis will focus on biodiversity, "the depletion of biodiversity factors, the protection of ecosystems and endangered species, and preservation of germplasm". The fourth axis will focus on environmental pollution, and ways of its treatment (air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, environmental waste, pollution and its impact on living things). The last axis will be related to the prevention of environmental risks (environmental predictions and scenarios, environmental planning, and environmental safety).
