4 million riyals for parking expansion in the University

His Excellency Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al dawood, the President of King Khalid University (KKU), has issued an order to the University Technical Affairs to carry out several expansion projects for the parking of vehicles for both staff and students. The expansion will take place on the land north of the University City.

Regarding this matter, the Director of University Technical Affairs, Engineer Mishaal bin Jabir Al-Shreim, has stated that the department had actually started the project with a total estimated cost of 4 million riyals, on an area of 95 thousand square meters (m2). The project includes provision of shaded parks for the staff of the university on an area of 4.700 m2, which are expected to serve 300 people. Besides, there will be other parking spaces with the area of 1.150 m2, and will provide space for 60 cars.

Engineer Al-Shreim said that the administration had carried out another expansion for the students' parking area, which takes place in the northern part, on an area of 31.615 m2. It is expected to provide space for 1,250 cars, plus additional parking for students in the eastern part, on an area of 18,300 m2 to provide space for 450 cars. Furthermore, the director of Technical Affairs emphasized that they established a fence along the ground, in addition to a main gate on the western side, and two subsidiary gates on the western side. Also, there are two gates on the northern and the eastern sides.
