Acting University President Sponsors Central Library Development Workshop

King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of Electronic Services, recently organized a workshop to develop the Central Library in Al-Fara'a, entitled “The Central Library in Al-Fara'a:  an attractive and sustainable cultural environment”. The workshop was sponsored by the university’s Acting President, Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dajam, and attended by a number of specialists and interested people at the Central Library in Al-Fara’a.

In a speech presented by His Excellency, he stressed the importance of strengthening the role of libraries and their creative and cultural outputs; praising the developmental efforts and ideas he witnessed during this workshop.

Ibn Dajam stressed that developing the library begins by working on tools, ideas, and mechanisms that would maximize benefits to faculty members and students. He also confirmed that the university's Central Library is open for all general education students, male and female, as well as all members of society to benefit from its various sources of knowledge.

Brainstorming sessions’ outcomes were discussed, where a number of male and female employees, students, and Asir Development Authority Affiliates participated.

The Dean of the Deanship of Electronic Services at the University, Dr. Hamid bin Saleh Al-Qahtani, explained that the development workshop aimed to enhance the library beneficiary’s experience, provide an attractive environment in accordance with international standards, promote the culture of reading, research, and innovation, and strengthen community partnerships with Libraries and local and international organizations to activate effective investments and partnerships, in addition to providing high-quality electronic services and resources to university libraries, raising the performance efficiency of library staff and contributing to building academic support services and research consultations for university and community employees within the libraries.

The workshop concluded by honoring the participants and organizers from various entities at the university.
