King Khalid University Excels in the International QS Ranking 2024

King Khalid University continues its stride towards global excellence through developing human and technical capabilities, in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030 and University Strategy 2030.

Vice President of Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Hamid bin Majdou Al-Qarni, explained that the university’s efforts lead to significant escalations in the university's scientific programs and research fields, as it achieved record numbers in various classified programs for 2024. Seven programs received the QS classification, alongside two fields out of five that also received the classification.

Al-Qarni, explained that the university earned the 386th rank globally in engineering and technology, and earned the 501-550th rank globally in natural sciences. At the level of classified scientific programs, the university entered the top 200 universities ranking in the world after earning the 151-200 rank in chemical engineering. The university also achieved record numbers in physics and space sciences, where it ranked 301-350 globally.

King Khalid University’s mathematics and chemical sciences ranking improved as well, as it earned the 351-400 rank. As well as improving its international ranking in electrical engineering and electronics up to the 401-450 rank. The university had a clear global presence in medicine, computer science, and information systems, where it earned the 451-500 rank.

Al-Qarni explained that King Khalid University is working to incentivize research and innovation and improve various academic programs in order to develop its global presence within the various classification platforms, stressing the university’s determination to achieve the goals of its 2030 strategy, in conjunction with the Asir Development Strategy, “Qimam and Shaim". 

Al-Qarni stressed that the university is working hard through its strategy to achieve Saudi Vision 2030 objectives, and to place King Khalid University amongst the world's most prestigious universities.

It is worth noting that, the university recently celebrated the launch of its global outlook agenda, alongside a number of enablers that are predicted to enhance the university’s local, regional and global presence.
