University President Attends the Third Scientific Research Conference at the College of Applied Sciences in Al-Majardah

His Excellency, the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami, attended the Third Scientific Research Conference for Students, which was organized by the College of Applied Sciences in Al-Majardah, in the presence of the Vice-President for Educational Affairs, Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dajam, and the Advisor to the President of the University and General-Supervisor of the Colleges of Tihama, Prof. Ahmed bin Atif Al-Shehri, at the Cultural Center in Al-Majardah.

His Excellency toured the accompanying exhibition, in which students presented 53 scientific research papers, alongside 21 educational institutions who also participated in the conference. His Excellency praised the efforts of the college to develop and enrich research, realizing the importance of research in construction, development, and progress, in light of Saudi Vision 2030, and the Ministry's strategies.

For her part, the CEO of the College of Applied Sciences in Al-Majardah, Dr. Maha Mohammad Al-Shehri, explained that the conference in its third edition has achieved clear progress. She said, "In its first edition, the conference included 6 projects and 24 participating students, and in its second edition, it included 26 projects and 95 students. In its third edition this year, the conference included 53 projects and 113 students". 

Dr. Al-Shehri explained that the conference is a valuable opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, knowledge, and innovations in several fields. She highlighted the continuous efforts of the College of Applied Sciences in supporting the strategic plan of King Khalid University, in line with the Asir Development Strategy. To conclude, she pointed out the college's plans to prepare for the implementation of the women and children's activities included in the college's initiative, with the aim of creating a vital space for women. 

For her part, the Head of the Scientific Research Committee at the College of Applied Sciences in Al-Majardah, Dr. Olfah bint Bel-Qasim bin Saeed, explained that the conference aimed to develop the general awareness of research, and to create a spirit of creativity and innovation among students. She added that they are working hard through this important scientific event to organize research competitions, in which students compete to conduct research in many fields, which can be applied in the future in a way that benefits our kingdom.

To conclude the ceremony, His Excellency honored the executive committee of the conference and the partners of success who played a role in making the conference a reality. He also honored the students who won the “distinguished research contributions”, in the fields of (artificial intelligence, applications and websites, mathematics, digital marketing, English, home economics and public education schools). 

His Excellency also visited the Colleges of Nursing and Applied Medical Sciences in Muhayil Asir to inspect the buildings of the two colleges and review their needs. He was accompanied by the Vice-President for Educational Affairs, Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dajam, and the Advisor to the President of the University and General-Supervisor of the Colleges of Tihama, Prof. Ahmed bin Atif Al-Shehri. His Excellency was welcomed by the Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Muhail Asir, Dr. Mohammad Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi, and the Dean of the College of Nursing in Muhayil Asir, Dr. Abeer Saad Asiri. His Excellency concluded his visit at the College of Arts and Culture in Rijal Alma’a and held a meeting in the presence of the Dean of the college, Dr. Ghida’a Al-Amri.
