University President Honors Digital Transformation Team for Achieving Second Place among Educational and Training Institutions in the Kingdom

The President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solmai, stressed the importance of digital transformation in today's world. He explained that the university, with all its national cadres, is working side by side to employ technology to improve the university’s environment and promote digital innovation in e-services, in order to achieve integration among all university systems and provide a distinctive experience.

 

His Excellency made these remarks during his patronage of the Digital Transformation Team's honoring ceremony, which was held recently after the university won second place out of 36 educational and training institutions in the 2023 Government Digital Transformation Index. The award was given in recognition of the university's outstanding performance, the efficiency of its e-systems and digital content, and the integration of its digital services. The award was presented during the Digital Government Forum, which was organized by the Digital Government Authority under the slogan "Our Future is Now" in its second edition.

 

His Excellency added that the university is working on governing platforms, projects, and technical standards to achieve operational and spending efficiency, and to activate an effective governance framework for digital transformation at the university. He also said that the university is working on reengineering and automating procedures and operations to achieve its strategic goals.

 

The Dean of E-Services at King Khalid University, Dr. Hamid bin Saleh Al-Qahtani, explained that this achievement is a culmination of the university's efforts to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and to activate the digital aspect in a way that reflects on the quality of academic services and facilitates them. He pointed out that the university has achieved advanced positions in the education and training sector.

 

Al-Qahtani explained that the Digital Transformation Team is currently working to achieve the university's goals for 2024. The team is working on governing e-learning, ensuring e-learning quality, and developing high-quality courses. The team is also working on creating flexible and exceptional learning paths and remote-learning programs that are in line with market needs. In addition, the team is working on the digital transformation index, the efficiency of digital content, the adoption of emerging technologies, the governance of educational laboratories and software, and business continuity through high-efficiency cyber security solutions.

 

Following that was a visual presentation that highlighted the achievements of the Deanship of E-Services for 2023. These achievements included the Excellence Award for Community Participation in the field of e-learning, the ISO certification for international standards for business continuity to enhance digital security, and the Innovation Award in e-learning and training, Impact Path, Open Educational Resources Enrichment Branch. The Deanship also won the Innovation Award in e-learning and training, Impact Path, Human Capacity Development Branch, and achieved second place among educational and training institutions in the Kingdom for digital transformation in the integration stage.

 

At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency honored the Digital Transformation Team, stressing the need for more efforts to achieve higher digital leaps at the university.
