University President Attends the Third Forum for Scholarship Students

His Excellency, President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, attended the launch of the Third Forum for Scholarship Students, titled "The Role of Saudi Universities in Preparing Scholarship Students to Contribute to the Sustainable Development of their Countries: Visions and Experiences". The forum was organized by the General-Administration for International Students, and will take place over the span of two days at the Medical Conferences Center in Al-Fara'a University City. 

Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dajam, attended the forum, alongside a number of representatives of the Ministry of Education, official entities and Saudi universities. As well as partners from the non-profit sector in the kingdom.

His Excellency, explained in his speech that the governance of His Royal Highness, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness, Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, diligently works to attract international students to study in the kingdom, and provide them with the needed care and support.  

These efforts highlight our leadership's belief in the active role international students' play in the sustainable development of their home countries. He pointed out the Ministers' council decision to facilitate long and short-term education visas, which target students, researchers, and academics. These initiatives aim to highlight the kingdom as an attractive educational destination, elevate Saudi educational institutions' ranking and capabilities, spread the positive message of moderation, and Arabic language education, under the leadership of His Excellency, Minister Yosef bin Abdullah Al-Banyan, through various initiatives, most notably the "Study in Saudi" initiative. 

His Excellency confirmed that the university ensures to fulfill its national duty, as it has successfully attracted more than 2,500 students from 85 nationalities to study various disciplines and programs from diploma to doctorate. He noted that the university is moving forward in this direction, as the Asir region has a competitive advantage that doubles its responsibility in this aspect and requires strengthening this role in line with the university's 2030 strategy, the Asir development strategy "Qimam and Shiam", and Saudi vision 2030.

On his end, Dr. Saeed Al-Shahrani, Advisor to the Vice-President for Scholarship Students' Academic Affairs and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Forum, explained that this forum comes as an extension of the Ministry's forums, following the directives of our leadership.  

Al-Shahrani, explained that the forum discusses two key points. First, to highlight the kingdom's contributions, and efforts through the King Salman Center for relief and humanitarian work. Second, to display the initiatives of International Saudi universities' graduates, which contribute to sustainable development of their home countries in various fields, including health, education, social work, and media.
