University President Attends University International Day for Persons of Disability and Witness the Signing of Seven Agreements

His Excellency, King Khalid University President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al Solami patronaged the university activities corresponding with the International Day of Persons of Disabilities under the slogan: “Determination to Achieve Sustainable Development for Persons of Disabilities”, which was organized and held by the university’s Deanship of Students Affairs represented by the Students’ Care and Counselling Center. During the event, His Excellency was briefed on the efforts displayed in  the event’s accompanying exhibition, which highlighted the university’s efforts to provide  supportive programs that aid the needs of persons of disabilities. 

During the event and on behalf of the postgraduate persons of disabilities, the student Aban Al Otaibi delivered a speech, followed by a speech delivered by the student Ghada Alqahtani who represented persons of disabilities on the BA level. Both students thanked the university for offering the support and accessibility needed for persons of disabilities in the university. The event also included a visual presentation on the services offered for persons of disabilities in the university, which were represented in a unit dedicated to the support of persons of disabilities. 

On her part, the director of the Care and Counselling Center, Dr. Arwa Alrawie commended the university’s commitment to achieving a healthy and attractive academic environment equipped to suit all students. She stressed that the Care and Counselling Center’s strategic plan aligns with the kingdom’s vision 2030 in providing the services and programs that achieve a vital society sustained to the needs and comfort of all its members.

His Excellency also patronaged the signing of a number of agreements with private entities and committees in the presence of the university Vice President of Student Affairs Prof. Saad bin Dujam and the Dean of the Deanship of Students Affairs Dr. Ali Alqhtani. It is worth noting that agreements included employment and training opportunities for students of disabilities.
