University President Inaugurated the Narrative Discourse and the Challenges of the Age Conference

During the inauguration of the “Narrative Discourse and the Challenges of the Age, His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, said our interest in the Arabic language is the result of  it being the core of our identity, our religion and culture are both extracted from the eloquence of our language which we take great pride in. He added that the university’s attention towards the Arabic Language is drawn the our wise leadership ’s direction to protect and enhance the use of the Arabic Language, which is applied  through  King Salman International Institute of Arabic Language, and many relevant institutions and government agencies that thrive towards the same goal.

 

Al Solami, highlighted the importance of the field of  humanities and the  impact it has on the civilization of people, he stressed that the university finds great pride in  serving the Arabic language through several specialized departments in different colleges, the  teaching Arabic to non-native speakers unit,   the English language departments in the field of translation, as well as the  artificial intelligence  center.

 

It is worth noting that the  first days of the conference included 4 sessions that included 19 research papers presented by a selection of specialists  from different countries of the world, in addition to a lecture that discussed two scientific papers on narrative terminology in post-classical narratives, and a cultural reading on the status of poetry in narration.
