Science Faculty to hold an introductory program for talented.

The Faculty of Science, represented by the student activity, held an integrated program for the talented students of shrouk Al-Merafa School on Thursday 20/1/1436 AH. The activity was attended by the following personalities: the Vice - President for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Science, a number of departments' Heads, activity Leader, and a distinguished group of the teaching staff in the departments of the college.

The meeting started with a word of welcome to His Excellency the Vice - President, followed by a review of the talents and needs of students, and ways to refine those talents through their college relevant programs, which aim at developing energies of talented students. The program also included a hospitality ceremony presented by the Student Activity department at the faculty meeting room. After that, the students visited the labs of the faculty where the faculty members in each department made a clear presentation to all equipment and essential materials that talented students may need in scientific careers. In the Department of Physics, Students Learned modern techniques in the field of light, laser, and chip manufacturing, and the department gave an interesting presentation on the uses of the e-microscope.

In terms of chemistry and its everyday applications, Chemistry Department made practical presentation using different devices of analysis, such as atomic absorption device, as well as separation devices such as gas chromatography with mass and a liquid chromatography high-efficiency spectrometer. Moreover, the students learned about other department capabilities, including nuclear magnetic resonance device. Also in the Biology Department, they reviewed the modern appliances used in applications of DNA and genetic engineering, and methods of conducting DNA and other applications in the forensic medicine. This program is one of the faculty's activities, which is provided for young people who are the future of the country, believing in its important role in advancing the progress of the individual and society.
