Deanship of Graduate Studies Admits Students Into 85 Programs

Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Ahmad Alfayea, announced that the Deanship of Graduate Studies is keen to cooperate with colleges and departments to launch new programs and enlarge the acceptance's absorptive capacity. Dean Alfayea noted that this includes reconsidering the conditions of admission to programs.

 

Dean Alfayea then highlighted that admission procedures for the 2020/21 academic year is complete, with 707 students receiving full-ride scholarships and 1,000 students accepted into tuition-based programs. Of the 85 programs — which included diplomas — 19 are new. In terms of being more inclusive, the acceptance for female students in the systemic program (masters) witnessed a 12% increase. Dean Alfayea noted that admission procedures were completed after the conditions were approved by the relevant departments and colleges and the University Council.

 

Dean Alfayea explained that applicant admission was audited electronically before the differentiation stage, which is in accord with criteria approved by the relevant councils. In line with COVID-19 preventative measures, all applicants were informed of their results via text message.

 

Of note, the Deanship of Graduate Studies launched several new programs and diploma courses that serve to position graduates with skills relevant to labor market requirements. Those new programs and diploma courses include:

  • Family Counseling Program;
  • Drugs Prevention and Psychotropic Substances Program;
  • Cybersecurity Program;
  • Educational Policies MA;
  • Autism Disorder MA;
  • Arabic Language MA;
  • Media MA;
  • Crisis Communication MA;
  • Tourism Media MA;
  • Renewable Energy and Environment MA.
