Asir Governor and His Deputy Receive the Special Edition of the Afaq Newspaper on Tourism

Governor of Asir Region, His Royal Highness, Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, has received a copy of the special tourism edition of  the King Khalid University Afaq newspaper titled, 'This is Abha.'

This came while receiving the University delegation in HRH's office at Emirate of Asir. The delegation was led by His Excellency KKU President, Prof. Falah bin Raja Allah Al Solamy and he was accompanied by the General Supervisor and Chief Editor of the Afaq newspaper, Dr. Ali bin Shweil Al Qarni, Deputy Executive Editor, Yahia Al Tihani, and Assistant of Chief Editor in Administrative follow-up, Hassan Awaji.

In the meeting, HRH Prince Faisal Bin Khalid appreciated the efforts exerted by the University to highlight the Asir region in all fields; particularly, in tourism. He stressed that the Asir region has unique tourist attractions that surpass the rest of the Kingdom's regions. He also valued the unlimited support and attention given to the region by the wise leadership in all of its fields.

In addition, Deputy Governor of the Asir Region, HRH Prince Mansour bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, also received the delegation in his office at the Emirate of Asir and was given a copy of the Afaq newspaper 'This is Abha.'

His Excellency Prof. Falah bin Raja Allah Al Solamy further elaborated that the 'This is Abha' special edition aims to highlight the tourist aspects of the Asir region which corresponds with choosing Abha as the Capital of Arab Tourism in 2017. It also seeks to highlight the tourist hotspots and programs that are concerned with the development of tourism in the region. Moreover, the University aims to fulfill the role assigned to it; which is, contributing to the improvement and development of tourism in the Asir.

His Excellency also related that the special edition of Afaq newspaper consists of 192 colored pages, where 70 thousand copies have been distributed in a numerous governmental and tourism agencies, embassies, centers, and malls; in order to introduce people to the region's tourist attractions.

Al Solamy added that the 'This is Abha' edition includes several topics about tourism in the Asir region generally and Abha specifically. He further emphasized the latest achievement of being selected to be the Capital of Arab Tourism in 2017 as one of the most important events in the region, as it has placed the region on the map of Arab and international tourism.

Resultantly, King Khalid University represented by the Afaq newspaper steadily worked on issuing a special tourism edition which comes within the University's participation on this occasion. In this context, the University is valuing the support of both the Asir Governor and his Deputy in all of its activities.
