Asir Governor Sponsors the Closing Ceremony of the Seventh Culture and Health Awareness Program in Bariq

On Wednesday evening His Royal Highness, Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Asir Region, led the closing ceremonies of the 7th Annual Culture and Health Awareness Program in Bariq. This program is one of King Khalid University's community service initiatives. The annual Bariq event was implemented to help improve the health and well-being of residents in the area through health education and awareness.

 

The Culture and Health Awareness program was launched at the beginning of the month of Jumādá Al-Ūlá. The program consists of numerous courses, workshops, and exhibits. These activities and events are led by various healthcare professionals working in government, public health facilities, public schools, and private institutions. 220 King Khalid University employees participated in this year's effort, which included 455 separate events and activities. To date, the initiative has served more than twenty-nine thousand citizens in Bariq and surrounding towns.

 

At the commencement of the event His King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, welcomed His Royal Highness and his entourage. The King Khalid University representatives accompanied His Royal Highness on a tour of the program facilities and briefed him on the services offered to the public. His Excellency, the Rector, made the opening remarks thanking all of the sponsors and participants for their hard work and dedication to the program. He also noted that 'the Kingdom's greatest resource is its people. Serving our fellow countrymen is a noble duty of the highest order and esteem'.

 

The Rector explained that the university had sponsored this program for the last seven years in different areas of the southern region. Outreach programs such as this one have an important role in improving community health and enhancing social cohesiveness. The Rector further noted that the social outreach initiatives support both the university's mission and the national objectives of societal development set forth in Vision 2030. His Excellency thanked the program organizers and the members of the public for their cooperation in making the event a rousing success.

 

Rector Al-Solamy: 'The Kingdom's greatest resource is its people. Serving our fellow countrymen is a noble duty of the highest order and esteem'.

 

Prior to the conclusion of the event, the Governor of Bariq province, His Excellency Mufarah Al-Banawi, thanked His Royal Highness the Prince and His Excellency the Rector for sponsoring the initiative. He also praised all of those who worked tirelessly on this program for these many years. At the conclusion of the program, the Rector presented His Royal Highness a commemorative plaque as a token of collective appreciation for the support provided to the people and institutions in the Asir region.
