Marzouk researched the types of traditional architectural styles in the Asir region, pointing to the role of the environment as important inspirations for those architectural styles. He aimed to attract international attention, and increase overall interest while raising the awareness of those who are concerned so that they would preserve the traditional architectural heritage in the Asir region and its associated artistic and aesthetic elements.

He explained that the numerous architectural and aesthetic styles of the traditional houses in the Asir region are due to its different geographical and climatic diversity. As a result, the study undertook a cross-sectional area of study, from east to west, including the Tahami lowlands, the Sarah highlands, and the central plateaus.
