University to Support 45 COVID-19 Research Projects

In an attempt to contribute to the Kingdom's efforts in finding a vaccination to the global coronavirus pandemic, King Khalid University will fund ground-breaking research projects and initiatives into the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its treatment.

 

Vice Rector of Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Saad Al-Amri, explained that the supported research projects have reached 45 and are planned to find a solution to COVID-19 and to develop effective drug treatments and vaccines. He added a supervisory committee has been formed that includes a number of specialists to follow the progress of the research projects.

 

Vice Rector Al-Amri highlighted that the university initiated several projects and initiatives, including the project “Developing and Manufacturing Health Protection Products" under the supervision of the College of Engineering within the "Neshama Asir" initiative, which was inaugurated by His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Asir region.
