Rector and the American consul discuss ways to enhance cooperation.

His Excellency, the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Solamy, has this morning, received in his office, the United States Consul, Mr. Matthias Mettmann, and his accompanying delegation. The reception was in the presence of the University Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Majid Al Harbi, and the University Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al Hassoun.

During the visit, the His Excellency Rector, and his guest, the the Consul, reviewed various educational and scientific aspects, as well as ways to promote scientific research and communication between King Khalid University and American universities in general.

The two sides also discussed ways to promote and facilitate the procedures of sending demonstrators and lecturers from the university to the United States. They also discussed ways to facilitate study visa procedures and university acceptances for students on scholarships from the university, as well as aspects of doing the work of joint research between university research centers and advanced research centers in American universities, to promote such research to commensurate with the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Vision 2030, as reflected in the development of research programs, and the labor market in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

For his part, Mr. Mathias praised what he saw at the university facilities, and strategic vision. It was through his interview with the Rector about the university's strategy and the vision of the future, and keeping pace with scientific development, in a way that could serve Asir region in particular and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in general.

At the end of the meeting, the two parties stressed the continuation of scientific cooperation to be strengthened between King Khalid University and American universities, in addition to facilitating the scholarship procedures. The two sides also exchanged commemorative gifts on the occasion.
