A variety of events and programs in the university on the celebration of the 85th National Day.

Under the patronage of King Khalid University Rector Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al dawood, the University is launching the events of the celebration of the 85th National Day. The events will be launched next Monday. They will be held over two days.

Regarding that, the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Meraa bin Saad Al-Habash has stated that they had since, been preparing for the precious occasion. He stated further that several events would be held, including a seminar entitled "Always Great" to be provided by a number of faculty members, staff, and students. The event will take place in the Central Stands. Dr. Al-Habash clarified that on Tuesday, there would be a "poetic section", which would take place in the university foyer, in the University City in Algreger, with the participation of a number of poets and intellectuals. After that, a youth program called "Home Morning", which will include recreational and educational sections, in addition to national competitions will take place. In return, there will be valuable prizes for the attending students. Dr. Al-Habash added that they had released a hashtag #دمت_شامخاً on Twitter to enable the students of the university to express their love and loyalty to "this generous country". Dr. Al-Habash said, "We have allocated various prizes for the best tweets." Moreover, a new competition named "the culture of the nation" was launched to contribute to raising the national consciousness among university students according to a model prepared for this purpose.

Accompanying events will also be held in Prince Faisal bin Khalid Mosque at the University City in Algreger. Events will include giving words that reinforce the spirit of patriotism and belonging, and fighting extremism and terrorism. Words will be provided by faculty members from the College of Sharia and Religion Fundamentals. That will take place after Aldhuhr prayers,  and on over three days, starting from next Monday.
