Al-Solami highlighted the advantages the university enjoyed under the leadership's care, through the immense efforts of His Royal Highness, Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Asir Region and Head of Asir Development Authority, and the special attention provided by the Ministry of Education under the leadership of His Royal Highness, Minister of Education, Yosef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan.

The university had immense achievements, attributed to the concerted contributions from various sectors. Most recently, the University City construction in Al-Fara'a was completed. Male students transferred to the University City in Al-Fara'a, which stretches across 8 million square meters and at a cost of around 10 billion Saudi Riyals, while female students transferred to the University City in Quraiger. Progress and development does not stop here, but continues through improving university facilities, research studies, and supporting academic growth.
