The Minister of Health, "Al Faleh" visits health faculties.

On the sidelines of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Education and Health, the Minister of Health, Engineer Khalid bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Faleh, yesterday morning visited the health colleges at King Khalid University (KKU) at the University City in Abha. The Minister was received by the Vice - President of Medical Specialties Dr. Khaled Al Jelban, the deans, the chief executive officers (CEOs) of the Medical City, and the faculty members of the health colleges. His Excellency King Khalid University President, Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Aldawood expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Health, stressing the importance of such visits, which would raise the ways of cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the University. On his part, the minister emphasized that health and education sectors were complementary to each other, pointing that cooperation between them would see an advanced and largest developmental stage than its current condition, for the overall service of the country. He said, "The multiplicity of cities and provinces of Asir region and the increase in health care services by the centers will make Asir the founding area in activating cooperation frameworks between the two mentioned sectors". Moreover, Al-Faleh clarified that "Asir region embraces a number of medical cities and hospitals that can be activated to serve as medical educational cities". Al-Faleh added, "There are many outstanding universities around the world that are distinguished medically but unfortunately they do not have hospitals, and we are ready to change hospitals to be educational through collaboration with these global universities". The Minister stressed further, "The main target of these agreements is the citizen and his health." For his part, Dr. Khalid Aljelban stressed the depth of the relationship between the Ministry of Health and the University of King Khalid. He also gave a brief explanation of the medical specialties in the university, its achievements, and its multiple partnerships with the Ministry of Health. The visit was concluded by a tour in which the Minister checked the clinics and laboratories of the Faculty of Dentistry and how the work is going on there, in addition to a visit to the clinics of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences represented by the physical therapy and radiology departments.
