Training on script writing skills; 30 students in attendance.

The King Khalid University held a training program for script writing skills. The program was provided by the trainer and playwright, Yahya bin Muhammad Alalkami, in collaboration with Saudi Arabian Society for Arts and Culture, which was represented by the theater club of Student Affairs Deanship. The training program took place in the University City in Abha.

The training course which targeted 30 trainees from the members of the Theater Club in particular, and the students of the university in general, was held for three days. The course focused on the most important elements of the play. Thus, the attendees listened to some examples written by some of the participants. At last, the playwright - Alalkami - signed one of his famous publications entitled "Albaidak".

The conducting of such a course came within preparation for the events of the 1st University theatrical Festival under the title "Innovation Theatre". The festival which is in cooperation with the Culture and Arts Association, is expected soon, and will be technically overseen by this association. The aim of the festival is to discover young talent among university students. Moreover, the University intends to establish a band, which will acquire appropriate capabilities to participate in future theater competitions.

Furthermore, the training program came as part of the effective partnership between the university and the Association, which will contribute to the selection of young talent so as to be presented optimally in theatre competitions. A variety of prizes are going to be granted to the best theatrical performance, best actor, best décor, and the best script. There is an arbitration committee specialized in this field - theatre. The Committee is going to select the winners.
