University President inaugurates the 1st Academic Book Fair.
His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Al-Dawood has inaugurated today (Monday 9/2/2015 AD) the 1st Academic Book Fair. The Fair which is organized by the Library Affairs of the University, will run from 20 to 30/4/1436 AH. The inauguration took place in the headquarters of the University City in Abha. It is noteworthy that many publishing houses, which are specialized in academic books, are participating in the Fair.
During his tour of the stands at the inauguration, President Aldawood took a look on hundreds of versions of materials on display in diverse scientific disciplines, including medical, health and scientific specialties. It is known that the Medical Book Fair is achieving remarkable success, because the students of the university in health and medical colleges are very interested in such book Fairs.
The Dean of Libraries Affairs of the University, Dr. Saeed Qassim Al-Khalidi has stated at the occasion that university students had been granted 75% allowance of the value of all displayed books and scientific references. Moreover, Alkhalidi clarified that the deanship was interested in organizing the ongoing fair, starting from the second semester of the academic year 1435/1436 AH, stating further that "the purpose of this gesture is to give the students of the university an opportunity to buy academic books that they need for their courses, as well as to encourage them to obtain new books that are offered by the publishers at reasonable prices".
Note that the Fair is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Central Library of the University City, Aljurager.
