In a new achievement, King Khalid University ranked 401 worldwide in the Shanghai Ranking of World Universities (AUWR) 2023, escalating  200 points from last year’s ranking.

Shanghai Classification annually publishes the results of the top 1000 global universities depending on the four main criteria: Quality of Education, Quality of Faculty Members, Research Publications as well as Individual Performance.

The International Classification Unit supervisor Dr. Sami Al Shahri, explained that the four criteria include several indicators that cover the number of graduates and faculty members who obtained Nobel Prizes or worldwide medals.

In addition, the   measuring  of the number of citations for the highest researchers in the Clarivate database, research publications in Nature and Science magazines, referred research in the scientific publication guide (SSIE), the publication guide for social sciences (SSCI), and individual performance are also barometers that contribute to the classification criteria.

It is worth mentioning, that for the third year in a row, the university has appeared in the same classification, jumping 200 points each year
