University Receives 8 Awards at Kuwait International Innovation Fair

In a recent significant achievement, King Khalid University obtained 8 awards in the field of research and innovation. This came during the university’s participation in the 13th International Invention Fair in the Middle East IIFME, which was held in Kuwait during the period 12-16 February 2023.

 

The University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Hamed bin Majdou Al-Qarni, congratulated the participating researchers and inventors from the university on their success, stressing that this achievement is an extension of the efforts aimed at achieving the university’s strategic goals and  objectives in the area of research and innovation, guided by support of  His Excellency the University President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami.

 

On his part, the Dean of the Scientific Research Deanship at the University, Dr. Muhammad Abu Dahma, noted that advanced materials science, environmental sciences, medicine, and artificial intelligence were among the fields covered by the patents won in the fair.

 

According to Abu Dahma, the Deanship of Scientific Research places the support of innovators and inventors at the top of its list of priorities. It also encourages the filing of patents and looks to invest in them so they can be turned into research products, which are to help improve the results of the knowledge-based national economy.

 

It is worth noting that the IIFME in its 13th cycle, included more than 190 inventions representing 40 countries around the world.
