Under the auspices of Prince of Asir region, University organizes the 13th Annual Book and computer Fair.

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Governor of Asir region, Prince Faisal Bin Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz, and under the supervision of King Khalid University President, Prof. Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Al Daoud, King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of Library Affairs is organizing the 13th Annual Book and computer Fair, 2014. The Fair is going to be held from 26 Dhul Hijjah 1435 AH to 7 Muharram 1436 AH.

On this very important issue, the Dean of Library Affairs Dr. Saeed Al-Khalidi, has confirmed that the Fair will witness the participation of many local publishing houses, as well as government and private departments at the national level. Also there will be some institutions which specialize in technology, in computers, and in libraries techniques. Al-Khaldi said, "There will be a section dedicated to the Saudi universities,  another one to literary clubs, and to public libraries from outside the university but with the participation of some stakeholders from within the university. He added, "Events of the Fair will be accompanied by various cultural activities, such as training courses provided by the Saudi Digital Library and the university Transfer Office, in addition to lectures, seminars, which are to be presented by distinguished lecturers. The lectures will be about reading, culture and information, in addition to cultural and poetic sessions by a group of poets, and intellectuals. Some aspects of this session will be allocated to university students according to suitability.  Al-Khalidi calls on the academic community in Asir Province to take advantage of this cultural event, and to be interested in attending the training sessions in various fields, so as to take full advantage of the cultural events that will accompany the Fair, such as the issues that are dealt with in books,  in cultural presentations, and in the knowledge - based society.
