Dr. Al-Tihani Wins King Abdulaziz Book Award

Poetry in Asir 1351-1403 AH, a book by Arabic Language and Literature Department Head, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Tihani, won the 2019 King Abdulaziz Book Award in the literature category.

 

King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, commended Dr. Al-Tahani for winning this important national award, stressing that these types of awards are considered significant additions to the university's achievements. "The book adds great value to the documented historical work of the Asir region," said Al-Solamy.

 

The book, a comprehensive study of topics and artistic features, dissects poetry of the Asir region from 1351 to 1403 AH. Of noteworthy mention, the book was published by the Abha Literary Club and has been the main topic of discussions in literary meetings and press meetups.
