Partnership Agreements and Workshops Underscores IECHE 2019

The Minister of Education, His Excellency Dr. Hamad Bin Mohammed Al-Shaikh, visited King Khalid University's pavilion at the International Exhibition & Conference on Higher Education where he met with the university rector, university representatives, and leadership figures. Of noteworthy mention, King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, executed new agreements with Tabuk University in numerous fields. This partnership is strategically aligned with King Khalid University's research and scientific movement, which aims to strengthen domestic and international presence through active scientific and research partnerships with domestic and international universities. Prior to the agreement with Tabuk University, it was reported that His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy executed new agreements with the National Center for Academic Assessment and Accreditation in the Evaluation of Education and Training for consideration of 3 additional undergraduate programs (Arabic Language and Literature, Clinical Laboratory, and Pharmacology), 1 graduate program (Curriculum and Teaching Methods), and 1 doctorate program (Management an Educational Supervision). He also signed educational and community service cooperation agreements with 4 other domestic universities (Bisha University, Jazan University, Taibah University, and Taif University).

 

Given that King Khalid University was very active during the conference, it was an honor to have center stage on a variety of workshops. Dean of e-Learning and General Supervisor of Design, Dr. Fahad Al-Ahmari, delivered a visual presentation on the KKUx platform. He highlighted the university's efforts in developing and enhancing future skills through the platform. Dean Al-Ahmari discussed how the platform works and its main purpose, which is to connect learning outcomes to labor market needs. He concluded his presentation by stressing the value of in-demand skills. Of note, KKUx's web traffic has exceeded 20,000 visitors and is the first of its kind in the Kingdom's higher education field.

 

In the field of research, Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Hamed Majdooq Al-Qarni, delivered a workshop on 'Research Programs at King Khalid University and Achievement of the Objectives of the Strategic Plan of the University and the Vision of the Kingdom 2030'. The workshop reviewed the experiences of the Deanship of Scientific Research and progress in building research programs and its relation to the university goals and mission.

 

On the topic of admissions to international universities, the university's pavilion hosted guest speaker from King Abdulaziz University, Dr. Samar Al-Sagaf, who discussed the requirements and conditions for applying to international universities. She also spoke on the laws and life of the hosting universities and countries.
