University Signs Two Agreements with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Abha
King Khalid University signed two agreements with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Abha. His Excellency the Rector, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solamy, represented King Khalid University in the first agreement, and Mr. Hassan M’jeb represented the Chamber of Commerce. The second agreement was with the Administrative and Financial Sciences College, which was represented by Dr. Fayez Awad Al-Dhafra while Mr. Abdullah Al Zahrani represented the Chamber of Commerce.
The items of cooperation are:
- Provide for cooperation between the two parties in carrying out studies and research.
- Provide academic, administrative, industrial and technical consultations.
- Cooperation in training students in private sector establishments and the provision of suitable training packages for the private sector and cooperation in recruiting graduates in the labor market.
- Provide the required support for Scientific Research Chairs and Care Programs at the university.
- Study and develop ideas for investment projects established under the umbrella of the Chamber of Commerce.
- Support research projects at specialized research centers in the university.
- Hold various joint events including workshops, conferences, seminars, and exhibitions.
- Cooperation on the establishment, management, and operation of small business incubators.
- Cooperation in the procedural development of an educational program to grant bona fide stakeholders of the Chamber of Commerce an MBA in the fields of entrepreneurship, human resources, and strategic planning.
In his speech, the Dean of the Institute of Research and Consultations at the King Khalid University, Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Hadithi, related that the positive changes and ambitious initiatives our blessed country is witnessing prove that the two parties need to strengthen their cooperation. He explained that this relationship has multiple benefits for both sides as university education is the primary source of knowledge and science, and the private sector is concerned with the commercial and industrial application of the outputs of the university.
Al-Hadithi added that this agreement would maximize cooperation when conducting further studies and research, providing consultation and collaboration in training students, and preparing them for the labor market in addition to facilitating the recruitment of graduates in private sector institutions.
