His Excellency, the Rector of King Khalid University (KKU), Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Solamy, has launched an educational awareness program of medications and their uses. The program adopts the slagon "your medicine ... we care about". The venue of the activity was in the main Foyer of the university. The program has provided a series of lectures and accompanying exhibition. The purpose of organizing such a program is to provide some little information about certain types of medications in general, and about herbal products in particular. Recently, it has been noted that herbal products are frequently used by different segments of the community, so it has become necessary to introduce the correct ways to use and to store them.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Abdulrahman Al Sayari, has confirmed that the program was in line with the objectives of Saudi Arabia's vision 2030, which stipulates 'the enhancement of interaction between public agencies and citizens', and 'the improvement of the quality of health services in both preventive and therapeutic sides'. Dr. Al Sayari said, "This program proves the keenness of the College of Pharmacy to achieve its mandated role in serving the community, especially with regard to awareness and educational aspects that promote prevention, treatment, and awareness of citizens' health"

The program was launched on Tuesday, 24 / 1 / 1438 AH. The first visit was paid to Abha Secondary School for boys, and another to Al Rowad Private schools for Girls in the Civil Airbase in Khamis Mushayt. An educational lecture entitled 'Learn more about medicine' was presented during the occasion, in addition to a companying awareness corner, which reviewed the optimal use of certain medications, awareness of the possible side effects, and the appropriate methods of storage.

It is noteworthy that the program aims to inform and to educate citizens and residents about the right concepts for medication use and preservation, as well as for protection from the negative effects of the consumption of medicines and herbal products. Moreover, the program is targeting various governmental sectors such as schools, charities, as well as Social Houses. A tag associated with the event titled # دواؤك _نهتم _به was launched and it was met with interaction and participation of a number of specialists in the field of pharmacy. The program is sponsored by Nahdi Medical Company, which has already signed an agreement with the King Khalid University, represented by the Faculty of Pharmacy.
