University President crowned the winners of the Second Cultural Olympics.

His Excellency, the President of King Khalid University, Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, has patronized the closing ceremony of the activities of the Second Cultural Olympics, which was held for three days, and which was organized by the deanship of the students’ affairs. Events presented at the occasion  were in a number of different fields; with 17 individual competitions, and 3 collective competitions, all held at the University theater in Abha.

In his speech at the occasion, President Al Dawood clarified that such competitions created the innovation between students, and stressed further that creation was limitless.The President expressed his gratitude to the deaneries of the students’ affairs for the great organization and arrangements made for the occasion, and congratulated the winners, who gained the advanced ranks, stating that the University was not a study hall or a factory only, but a place where chance and opportunities are offered to the youth for creation in all fields.

The dean of the students’ affaires, Dr Moureh Al Habesh, used the occasion to indicate that the arrangements of such activities were for the academic benefits of the student, to build him and to guide him in the right direction. Dr. Al Habesh added that the activities of the occasion were not only a competition but they were for building the student's confidence in him and in his abilities.

The colleges results came as follows; Sharia college won the first place, the Faculty of Medicine was ranked second while Faculty of Engineering came third. In the cultural competition, the College of Medicine was in the first place, the second place was for the College of Arts and Sciences in Tanomah, and College of Dentistry won the third place.

In the field of recitation operetta, Saleh Al-Qahtani, from the Faculty of Dentistry, won the first place, Abdullah Al Khzeim, from the Faculty of Pharmacy, won the second place, and Abdullah Al Bahis, from the Faculty of Medicine, won the third place. And in the community service field, the awards of the first place and the second were withheld, while Said Hamdan, won the third place.

In the Holy Quran contest, the first place was won by the student Mirei Asiri, from Faculty of Medicine, in the second place came Mubarak Al-Shahrani from Faculty of Medicine, and third place was for Badr Asiri from the Faculty of Sharia.

In the competition of the best recitation, the first place was won by Badr Asiri from Faculty of Sharia, the second place was won by Zafer al shahri from Faculty of Medicine, and the third place was won by Mohammed Asiri from Faculty of Medicine as well.

In the Sunnah contest, Hamdan Shihri from Faculty of Islamic Law, won the first place, the second place was won by Mohsen Ibrahim Osman from Faculty of Islamic Law too, and the third place prize was withheld.

In the field of diction, Mashal Al Kadi from the Joint Programs won the first place, while Ali Al Amer from Faculty of sharia won the second place, and the third place was won by Khalid Al Awashiz from Faculty of Sharia.

In the competition "Explain", Mohammed Harbi, from College of Computer Science won the first place, while Marwan Abdul Rahman from Faculty of Engineering won the second place, and the third place was won by Ahmed Al Adawi from College of Computer Science. 

In the field of "Poetic Contest", Mohammed Asiri from Faculty of Medicine won the first place, and Zafer Ahmari from Faculty of Sharia came in the second, while Diab Mohammed from Faculty of Pharmacy won the third place. And in the Eloquent poetry, Saad Al-Qahtani from Faculty of Sharia won the first place, while Hashim Al Nami from College of Computer Science came in the second place, and Abdullah Al-Hazmi from Faculty of Sharia came in third place.

In the Nabati Poetry, Abdullah Al-shahrani from Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences won first place, while Ayed Al Mubarak from Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences won the second place, and the third place was won by Abdulaziz Al-Qahtani from Faculty of Medicine.

In the documentary films, Nasser Al Mishlwi from College of Education won the first place, with Sulaiman Al Hammadi from Faculty of Engineering coming in the second place, and Abdul Rahman Al-Ghamdi from Faculty of Sharia winning third place.

In the field of Arabian Calligraphy, Saud Al Edwani from Faculty of Sharia won the first place, while Ryan Omari from College of Sharia came in the second place, and Nawaf Al Habi from Faculty of Medicine came in the third place. And in the field of plastic arts, Turki Al-Qahtani from Faculty of Medicine won the first place, with Mohsen Saif Aldeen from Faculty of Engineering winning the second place, and the third place achieved by Abdullah Abu Al Saber from College of Dentistry.

In the field of the Caricature the first place went to Turki al-Qahtani from Faculty of Medicine, while the second place was won by Mohammed Abdel Wahab from College of Computer Science, and the third place was won by Wael Al Laheeb from Faculty of Medicine.

In photography, Abdullah Al Shahri from Faculty of Pharmacy won the first place, while Faisal Al Shahri from Faculty of Sharia won the second place, and the third place was won by Ali Al-Qaisi from Faculty of Arts and Sciences in Mahael Asir.

In painting, Alaa Gomaa Akil Al Nagi from College of Engineering won the first place, and Mohammed Asiri from Faculty of Science won the second place, while the third place went to Hazzam Al Shahrani from Community College in Khamis Mushayt. And in the field of Digital Art and designs, Abdullah Al Faye from Faculty of Humanities won the first place, while Zamil Al Wahbi from Faculty of Medicine won the second place, and the third place was for Abdulrahman Al-Zahrani from Faculty of Engineering.

In the field of theater, the first place was for Abdullah Al-Qahtani from Faculty of Sharia, and Abdullah Al Faea from Faculty of Humanities won the second place, and third place was won by Abdullah Al-Omari from College of Applied Medical Sciences in Khamis Mushayt.
