Dental Conference recommends evaluating students fairly.

The activities of the First International Dental Conference were concluded last Saturday. The conference was under the title: "The New era in Dentistry in its global dimension", and was organized by the Dentistry School of King Khalid University (KKU) from 30/1 to 2/2/1437 AH. The venue of the event was in Abha Palace Hotel. The conference came out with a number of recommendations.

The conference recommended the need to apply the latest and the best theoretical and clinical training methods; to ensure that the learning outcomes are based on a solid scientific basis theoretically and practically, and to activate the latest technology in teaching and training of students to cope up with international standards in the developed countries. Furthermore, the conference emphasized the importance of assessing students fairly and objectively in order to reflect students' real potentials. The conference also recommended the priority of Preventive Dentistry to ensure application of the principle of prevention philosophy even on a personal level, and the expansion of the oral and dental health programs, which must be extended to touch various segments of the Saudi society. Other recommendations of the conference were the need for a natural oral health policy, and the emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention, in addition to studying various programs of strengthening global oral health, developing special preventive program in line with the environmental data of Saudi society, with the unification of preventive programs to have a common national program, the formation of a team of dentists from relevant authorities and affiliated segments to the Ministry of Health in order to develop a national plan to overcome the problem of tooth cavity.
