University employs 363 lecturers, Demonstrators and Assistant Professors.

King Khalid University President, Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood has approved a resolution to employ 363 lecturers, Demonstrators and Assistant professor of both sexes. The move is the first since the establishment of the university, as such a number had never been employed at once. Job opportunities are in a number of scientific, medical and humanitarian disciplines.

In turn, the University Vice - President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Majid Abdul Karim Alharbi said that the university had announced earlier for those vacancies, and application was electronically through the website of the university. It was the first time to link the announcement of academic jobs with electronic registration form, which contributed to the accuracy of the information, besides preserving the applicants' rights and stopping the reliance on random paper presentation. He further said, "The applicants were referred to the scientific departments in various faculties of the university. After conducting the necessary tests and interviews, colleges finalized their selected candidates. Then the boards and committees in charge of the exercise completed employment forms presented by colleagues in the Deanship of faculty members."

He added, "93, (about 26% of the new appointees) were chosen from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program. It reflects the interest of the university to take advantage of the distinguished who are worth to join the departments of the university as members of the teaching staff." Dr. Alharbi emphasized that "the university will continue to fill all its academic vacancies, as such, it is currently working on sorting group of lecturers and assistant professors, which had already been announced earlier, and vacancies for demonstrators, which will be announced next month". AlHarbi clarified that it is expected to announce other 349 academic vacancies, explaining that the proposed jobs for non-Saudis are originally vacant based on the country's system, and the University is working to replace them with Saudi citizens."
