University Council agrees to attract a number of scholars from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques scholarship program.

His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, who is also the Vice - President of the University Council, Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood has inaugurated the third meeting of the University Council for the academic year 1435 - 1436 AH. The inauguration took place at the University Council venue in the University City in Abha, and in the presence of Secretary General of Council of Higher Education Dr. Mohammed Abdul Aziz Alsaleh, University Vice - Presidents, Deans and other high ranking officials from different Deanships.

In the meeting, His Excellency the University President congratulated Dr. Khalid Abdullah Al-Sabti, who has recently been nominated as the Minister for Higher Education. The President wished him luck, and prayed to God to inspire him with success. Moreover, the President specially thanked and His Excellency Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al-Angari, and appreciated his great and sincere efforts for higher education in general, and for King Khalid University in particular, during his tenure as the minister of Higher Education and as a president to the University Council.

After that, the Board discussed a number of topics on the agenda, including: performance report, King Khalid University indicators for the academic year 1434 - 1435 AH, and modification of the resolution of establishing the Department of Management and Educational Supervision at the College of Education to grant Masters and Ph.D. degrees. In its third meeting, the Council discussed also the acceptance of a fund raising to the University from Arabesque Engineering Consultancy Office, estimated to SR 4 million, and from Al-Rashed company with an estimate of SR 1 million, in addition to asking for sabbatical for a number of faculty members, and ending the scholarship period for a number of the University scholars.

The council also agreed to attract a number of scholars who were beneficiaries of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques's scholarship program. In addition, the council members agreed to employ a number of lecturers, as well as a number of faculty members of the rank of Assistant Professor.
