92 students compete in the first day of the Cultural Olympiad.

On Monday morning 23/2/1436 AH, the activities of the Cultural Olympiad for female students were launched at King Khalid University. The venue was the Faculty of Science Theatre at the Academic Complex for Girls in Abha.

 It is noteworthy that 92 students from various faculties of the university competed in five areas, namely, the Sunnah, recitaion, eloquent poetry, poetry, and cultural competitions. Tuesday 24/2/1436 AH also witnessed the rest of competitions within the Olympiad. The program of the Olympiad, which was presented by Mrs. Reem Ahumaiani, began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a word from the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Hanan Al-Qadi, who announced the opening of the Olympiad. The Olympiad witnessed interaction and participation of the students. 11 students from 11 Colleges participated in the area of Sunnah, while 21 students from 21 Colleges participated in the area of recitation. In the field of eloquent poetry, 8 students from 8 colleges participated, with 12 students from 12 Colleges participating in the area of poetry. Also, 40 students from 10 colleges participated in the cultural competitions aspect.

On the occasion, the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Hanan Al-Qadi explained that launching was informed by the belief in the role of Student Affairs Deanship and its commitment to discover, elaborate, and evaluate students' talents. Thus, the deanship sought to establish the first Cultural Olympiad for students of King Khalid University in 1435 - 1436 AH. She said, "This confirms the significant role being played by the Deanship, to serve students, shown by the deanship's provision of the facilities, finance and spiritual support for the establishment of the Cultural Olympiad which was done in an honorable way worthy of the deep-rooted University: King Khalid University."

On this regard, the Chairman of the Organizing Committees of the Cultural Olympiad Prof. Fatma Alghamd reported that after three weeks of hard work, organizing committees were formed. There were 7 committees made up of 34 employees. Their breakdown is as follows: 3 employees in the Media Committee, 5 employees in the Theater Organizing Committee, and another 5 employees in the hospitality Committee. Others are 3 employees in the Technician Committee, 9 in Security committee, 6 in Reception committee, while 3 employees were to organize cultural competition, in addition to the participation of 11 students in the organization.
